Description/Job Summary

Plant Openings- General Laborer

The General Laborer job works on our production line processing our chicken products. This job may require working with live chicken or raw chicken. Open positions vary on a weekly basis.

You can come in between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm to the office to apply if assistance is needed. Applications are reviewed in a week's time. After review, we will temporarily consider applicants on a case by case basis who have worked with Perdue more than two times.  Applications can also be completed at your local Libraries, Department of Labor, or on your personal computer.

Open interviews occur every Monday from 2pm to 4pm.

Responsibilities/Duties

•    Demonstrate excellent attendance and punctuality
•    Work at various stations along the production line processing chicken food products
•    Adhere to all safety requirements including PPE; preventing and reporting unsafe acts and conditions, Lockout-Tag out procedures and Process Safety Management related matters.
•    Follow instructions given by your supervisor

Required Qualifications

All candidate considered must:
  • Be at least 18 year of age or older
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Have a minimum of 6 months of consecutive work history with one employer within the past 3 years

Details

Must be able to work in temperatures less than 50 degrees Fahrenheit with ambient humidity, noise exposure of 90.1 DBS.  Ability to remain stationary for 2 hours in single interval with a normal maximum of 8 hours per shift.  Included is occasional exposure to carbon dioxide vapors 10 ppm, and chlorine less than 20 ppm.  Must wear personal protective gear as required.  Must be able to lift 50 lbs boxes and 60 lbs totes.
