Description/Job Summary

The essential purpose of the wastewater operator is to efficiently operate the screening room.


  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, operate, maintenance, and do preventative maintenance on all equipment in the offal department.
  • Wear all required PPE (ear plugs, slip resistant boots, & bump caps)
  • Duty to follow all Lock Out Tag Out Procedures.
  • Obtain certification to operate a Forklift.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license to complete the following.
    1. Place semi-trailers in the offal bays
    2. Load trailers to proper weight, which is a skill learned over the course of 3 weeks.
  • Make sure blood is pumping into the designated blood tanker trailer and not to overfill.
  • Responsible for contacting Environmental Management about mixed product trailers and contacting designated members of management in Live Receiving with product information coming from the plant.
  • The offal operators will be responsible for the cleaning of the entire department.
  • Learn to operate a DAF, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair DAF issues.

Required Qualifications

  1. Required to possess a valid driver’s license.
  2. Must be able to successfully carry 50lbs.
  3. Required to have personal tools for maintenance of machinery.
  4. Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
  5. Required to do repetitive movement at times for 3-6hrs at a time
  6. High School Diploma or Equivalent
