This position will be responsible for coordinating plans using supply and demand forecasting to develop storage and logistics plans maximizing freight opportunities among all departments conducting business in the region. 


  • Meet with business units to address their needs and problems.  Work with Transportation to ensure resources for planning and availability.  Coordinate forward logistics plan and forecast for their region with consistent utilization of resources, maximizing backhaul/bundling opportunities, maintaining customer delivery expectations as well as meeting our internal consumption needs.
  • Train and develop Commodity Movement Planning (CMP) staff
  • Assist with daily tasks –such as scheduling changes, load orders and system maintenance, quality concerns, freight payment issues, rate requests, customer notifications, etc.
  • Identify opportunities for the Inventory Management team to pursue and triage, especially related to demurrage, accessorial charges, premiums, penalty fees and strategic spending
  • Address forward looking opportunities, such as FOB farm programs, farmer relations, committing to truck usage for storage programs, etc.
  • Manage the testing and implementation of new plans/protocols across PAB’s inventory strategy
  • Work with the QA Manager to accurately deliver on customer quality specifications and meet regulatory requirements
  • Oversee long term supply chain to Feed mills and Crush Plants to ensure there is always a buffer of inventory in the supply chain.
  • Perform other tasks as directed by supervisor

Required Experience

  • 3 – 5 years

Required Education

  • High School Graduate or GED
  • BS Degree (AgriBusiness, Business or Transportation) preferred

Required Qualifications

  • Understanding of sales and marketing concepts
  • Strong oral and written communications skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong negotiating skills
  • Understanding of standard software applications
  • Knowledge of grain handling and storage facility operations and technologies
  • Knowledge of USDA grain standards
  • Knowledge of rail, truck, barge and vessel logistics
