Description/Job Summary


 
The purpose of a Live Management Trainee is to further develop the technical and interpersonal skills required to be an effective Flock Advisor and to develop an understanding of the Live procesess to include Hatchery, Feed Mill, and Grow out areas.
 

 

Responsibilities/Duties

  1. Develop's and understanding of the Live functions to include production processes, animal husbandry, technical skills, and live cost parameters.
  2. Manage a project to improve overall live performance or address a business need relative to location.
  3. Completion of weekly assessments to demonstrate learned material.
  4. Rotation to include hatchery, feed mill, grow out, breeders and harvest facilities.
  5. Will perform legitimate roles and responsibilities as needed in the business unit.
  6. Will participate in regional and monthly learning events to develop an understanding of the Company, Agri. Stats, and soft skills training.
  7. Must have a valid State Drivers license an be approved to drive a  Company vehicle.
     

 

Required Experience

 
 

Required Education


 
Bachelors degree in Poultry Science, Animal Science, Business or related field.
 

Preferred Education

Prior management or experience working with live animals.

Required Qualifications

License – Must have a valid Drivers License with no points. Certified copy of State Driver’s Record for the past seven (7) years required before being employed.
 
Planning – an ability to think ahead.
 
Problem Solving – ability to analyze and resolve problems at a functional level.
 
Technical Skills – knowledge of and ability to implement modern processes & techniques and quality improvement processes.
 
Customer Satisfaction – knowledge of and ability to provide a strong customer orientation.
 
Communication – ability to communicate to all levels of the organization including producers and a commitment to excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
