Description/Job Summary

To assist the Supervisor in keeping compliance with USDA, QA and Plant Management standards.  Assist supervisor in overseeing associates and the performance of the required duty.  May include recommendations on discipline, coaching, altered work methods, scheduling, etc.  Make necessary checks on quality production and document it.  Assist in carrying out 100% rotation and 100% exercise.  Attend and hold meetings.  Ensure both quality and production goals are met.  Hold the ability to physically perform and have cognizant awareness of each position within the department.  Adhere to all safety requirements including PPE, preventing and reporting unsafe acts and conditions, Lockout/Tagout procedures and process safety management related matters.  May be asked for input on hiring decision, training, discipline, staffing and production adjustments regarding production standards.


#1. Assist supervisor in overseeing hourly production associates in the performance of the assigned duties while maintaining skills to physically perform the duties of each position within the department.

#2. Assist the supervisor and department trainer in the acclimation, development and training of hourly team members assigned to the production line.

#3. Assist in carrying out rotation and exercise of all associates in the production line and ensure associate needs are met throughout the production day to include equipment, tools and material.

#4. Assists the supervisor in communicating quality and production goals; line processing and performance concerns by attending and holding meetings and ensuring associates understand requirements.

#5. Make necessary checks for quality during production and document results as instructed while ensuring production goals are communicated to and met by all associates.

6. Adhere to all safety requirements regarding personal protective equipment (PPE), Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) procedures and process safety management (PSM) related matters. Prevent and report unsafe acts conditions, accidents, injuries to supervisor and wellness center staff.

Required Qualifications

Must be a Current Perdue Associate that has been employed at least 6 months, have zero active disciplines and less than 2.5 occurrences on attendance record.
