Description/Job Summary

Shipping Clerk 3rd shift

To assist management in the decision making process through the daily input of production data into the data collection system. Preparation of reports based on production data; to ensure the quality and accuracy of production data and reports. Bringing issues / problems with reported production data to the attention of management and working with production leads and supervision to minimize reporting errors.

The hours and days of work are established as needed by operations and at the direction of management and, while generally as shown below, may be changed (increased or decreased) by management as required. 

 

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Manage data entry provided on a daily basis – Receive and sort production paperwork provided by leads / supervisors. Crosscheck paperwork for accuracy. Enter production data into data collection system. Answer questions from management and production personnel regarding data specific items.
  • Track inventory – assist in tracking of raw materials and finish goods through the accurate and timely entry of data into the data collection system. Answer questions about specific inventory items and raw material shipments as needed.
  • Assist with process auditing by cross checking of paperwork to ensure accuracy, create a data trail for all production processes from receipt of raw materials to the shipment of finished goods by proper reporting of production data.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Excel and Outlook.  
  • Experienced in SAP and CFS systems.
  • Work in other areas as needed. 

Preferred Skills

Preferred but not required: Familiar with and some knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Must be proficient at data entry function.

Required Education

High school Diploma or GED. Good analytical and communication (both oral and written skills) and preferably experience in Accounting.

Details

Longest time in a single interval is 2 to 4 hours with repetitions of more than 30 per minute.  Temperature exposure of > 75 degrees in a dry environment with a noise exposure of <80 DB and a light intensity exposure of >100 foot candles.  Will use office equipment such as a type -writer and calculator.  Will occasionally need the following personal protection equipment if in the plant:  Hearing protection, steel toed boots, hard-hat, lab coat and a hair net. Will require occasional walking on a dry surface with a maximum distance of >100 feet.  Requires being in an upright standing position occasionally with mostly stationary mobility.  Requires sitting for 2 to 4 hours at a time in a variable up/down position. Requires occasional bending with a maximum forward angle of 45 to 90 degrees, a maximum backward angle of 2 to 5 degrees and a maximum side angle of 10 to 20 degrees.  Requires occasional twisting with a maximum forward angle of 30 to 60 degrees. Requires occasional lifting 1 to 3 times per minute with a maximum weight of up to 70 pounds.  Starting position height of lift would be floor level and final position height would be floor level.  Extension reach during lift would be 12 to 18 inches and the body position during lift would be bending over and /or squatting, twisting <90 degrees and walking <6 feet.  Longest time in a single interval of reaching would be 2 to 4 hours with a repetition of >30 repetitions per minute, with a forward reach distance of 0 to 6 inches and a side distance of <10 degrees.  Very little grasping required and no travel required.
