The purpose of this position is to monitor and assist in the operation of the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) and Portable Water system. An individual in this position is required to know the principles and practices invovled in operation of a chemical,
physical, and biological WWTP. This individual is expected to make specified routine decisions relative to those operations with a moderate amount of supervision. Must be open to working any shift.
Routinely monitor and record read outs of all flow meters, level indicators, voltage and amperage indicators, and other control / indicator devices associated with the water and wastewater system.
Perfom adjustments to valves, pumps, and other operating equipment as needed and / or directed by a supervisor.
Perform sample collections in conformance with all required protocal.
Perform sample analyses for basic quality control parameters; temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen, total residual chlorine, seteable solids, etc.
Perform cleaning and housekeeping in and around the work area; assist Maintenance personnel as needed.
Perform basic maintenance and preventive maintenance programs with regards to offal and waste-water.
The environmental factors and/or physical requirements of this position include the following:
Work area subject to outside elements. Must be able to climb ladders and work at heights of up to 40 feet. Some chemical handling-must be able to wear appropriate protection gear. Hard hat and safety shoes are required. Safety glasses, rain gear, and other
gear to be worn as required. Walking of approximately two miles per shift is required. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
This is a Wednesday-Saturday 6P-6A shift.
