Description/Job Summary

The purpose of an Assistant Hatchery Manager is to assist the Hatchery Manager in performing all management functions of the Hatchery to ensure chicks are delivered to the field.

Responsibilities/Duties

 #1.    Manage daily chick production and production associates from the chick puller, through the separator into the processing area, maintaining close communications with the maintenance personnel.

#2.     Manage daily deliveries and delivery associates. Daily associates follow-ups on schedule, DOT requirements and safety is required.

#3.     Manage egg transfer procedures, equipment and associates. Daily follow up on standard operating procedures, sanitation and scheduling of work schedules.

#4.     Manage egg inventories and egg flow through incubation.  Determine and distinguish correct breeder flocks and keep segregated through the process.

#5.    Manage “The Best Management Practices” as they apply to the faculty.  Responsible for corrective action and documentation of this program.

#6.     Manage all aspects of the standard operating procedures set fourth by corporate machine operation, sanitation, ventilation changes; are part of daily decision making through the SOP, conduct the necessary monitoring of the critical parameters in the incubation process.

#7.     Adhere to all safety requirements including PPE, preventing and reporting unsafe acts and conditions, Lockout-Tag out procedures and Process Safety  Management related matters.  Lead safety committee and monthly safety meetings.

Required Experience

2 Year's

Required Education

Strong reading, writing, analytical and math skills, Bachelors degree preferred ,but high diploma required with related field  experience
