The purpose is to service, maintain, repair and adjust equipment and machinery at plant facilities to safely operate and maximize production. To provide direction and technical advice to lower level classes.
#1 Perform regular adjustments, calibrations, and repair work in response to department demands both during production and non-production hours. .
#2 Respond to emergency break downs and needs in a timely manner within OSHA Lockout/Tagout and Perdue safety regulations .
#3 Holds operational knowledge of assigned plant areas as well as position class knowledge.
#4 Responds to processing manager’s needs and requests on a prioritized basis, through work assignments issued by management.
#5 Performs maintenance functions as directed by management and directing associates assigned to crew.
#6 Identifies and reports any violations of the Perdue Safety and Conduct policy to management for any corrective action that may be needed.
High School or GED diploma required with 1-2 years of related industrial mechanical experience.
#1 Exposed to plant and seasonal weather temperatures from 0 to 115 degrees Fahrenheit.
#2 Exposed to noise levels up to 115 dbs, Hearing protection is required per Perdue policy.
#3 Personal Protective Equipment ( PPE ) as required per Perdue policy.
#4 Chemical exposure which is covered under Perdue policy by PPE requirements.
#5 Bending , lifting and climbing is required.
#6 Included are exposure to chlorine, ammonia vapors, carbon dioxide (10 ppm), dry ice, lubricating oils, hydraulic oils, and caustic detergent.
