1st Shift 7am-7pm.
The purpose of a Refrigeration Operator is to safely operate the ammonia refrigeration system and its related equipment by adhering to Standard Operation Procedures and Perdue Safety Procedures and to perform preventative maintenance inspections.
Demonstrate excellent attendance and punctuality.
Must be able to operate all refrigeration systems in the plant.
Must be able to do all start-ups, shut-downs, and defrost procedures on all plant refrigeration systems.
Must be able to control the functions of all refrigeration systems in the plant: Area Temperature, Water Temperature, and Ice Production.
Must be able to perform all operational procedures: Rounds, Oil Draining, Oil Adding, and Posting all Logs.
Must be able to do all emergency shut-downs and start-ups, reset and restart failed equipment and put all systems back on line.
Must be trained on all refrigeration SOP’s.
Must have a clear understanding of the relationship between pressure and temperature in a refrigeration system.
Must understand heat transfer in a refrigeration system.
Must be able to do all PM procedures in refrigeration.
Must be qualified to do auger maintenance.
Perform tasks assigned by management.
Working knowledge of Departmental PC’s.
Perform maintenance activities such as Bearing and Belt Replacement, Coupling Alignment, etc.
At least 18 years of age.
Legally authorized to work in the United States.
Strong work history, worked for one employer for at least 1 year in the past three years.
Willing and able to work in wet and extreme hot and cold conditions.
Willing and able to work around dust, feathers, animals, and various cleaning chemicals.
Willing and able to climb stairs, work in confined spaces, and various floor surfaces.
High School Diploma or GED.
Associates Degree from an accredited college or technical school of training.
Minimum of 1 year in ammonia refrigeration experience.
RETA certification is a plus.
