The purpose of a First Processing Team Leader is to oversee the day-to-day supervision of production associates to achieve required production and quality standards while making sure that all associates are working in a safe, efficient, and effective manner.
The Team Lead is also responsible for promoting and maintaining positive working relationships with the production group which includes hourly and salary associates.
Demonstrate excellent attendance and punctuality.
Adhere to all safety requirements including PPE; preventing and reporting unsafe acts and conditions, Lockout-Tag Out procedures and Process Safety Management related matters.
Train, direct, and develop subordinates to meet operating, safety, and quality requirements within the department/area.
Supervise production staff to ensure product quality and integrity, and ensures all finished product meets or exceed customer requirements.
Creates and maintains an environment that is conducive to retaining associates. Consistently administers company policies and procedures.
Support and promote the company's annual People, Products, and Profitability goals through effective and efficient planning, communication, coaching, training, and overall direction of the workforce.
Creates and implements, with management approval, new ideas and methods to improve production efficiencies, CSI, QI, and Safety Scorecard.
Support the 3 P's. People-Turnover, Safety, Associates Engagement; Products-Quality and consistency of products; Profitability-Contribute to achievement of Key Initiatives.
At least 18 years of age.
Legally authorized to work in the United States.
Strong work history, worked for one employer for at least 1 year in the past three years.
Willing and able to work in wet and extreme cold and hot conditions.
Willing and able to work around dust, feathers, animals, and various cleaning chemicals.
Must have a High School Diploma or Equivalent with strong reading, math, writing, and analytical skills. Computer literate with skills in Microsoft Office.
Minimum of 3 years prior and related experience in supervision. Previous manufacturing, production, especially food production experience is a plus.
