The purpose of a Refrigeration Lead is to safely oversee the ammonia refrigeration department for their assigned shift providing direction and technical advice to lower level classes. Must also be able to perform all duties of lower classes.
Demonstrate excellent attendance and punctuality.
Can safely isolate and pump down any section of all systems.
Can do line operating procedures.
Must be qualified to receive or transfer ammonia in all plant systems.
Must be qualified to do extensive or major repairs on: Ammonia Compressors, Air Compressors, Ammonia Liquid Pumps, Ammonia System Controls, Refrigeration System Condensers, Air System Drying Equipment, and Air System Controls.
Know how to perform Mechanical Integrity inspections - Know Codes, Plan and implement projects from inception through implementation.
Must have a clear understanding of refrigerant expansion with pressure temperature variables.
Can direct and train all lower-class refrigeration associates.
Have a working knowledge of Departmental PC's.
Perform tasks as assigned by Management.
At least 18 years of age.
Legally authorized to work in the United States.
Strong work history, worked for one employer for at least 1 year in the past three years.
Willing and able to work in wet and extreme hot and cold conditions.
Willing and able to work around dust, feathers, animals, and various cleaning chemicals.
Willing and able to climb stairs, work in confined spaces, and various floor surfaces.
High School Diploma or GED.
Associates Degree from an accredited college or technical school of training.
Minimum of 3 years in ammonia refrigeration experience.
RETA certification is a plus.
Previous refrigeration experience in a manufacturing/production facility is a plus. Especially food production experience.
