Description/Job Summary

Position summary:   Responsible for directing all Niman Ranch Brand sales functions within a specific geography – with a primary emphasis on specific retail and retail distribution accounts in the eastern half of the US, including managing broker relationships, and working closely with the VP Sales to build sales and brand loyalty.  
Position responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement and execute a viable business sales plan to deliver a range of branded volume, margin, and profit objectives on fresh beef, pork, lamb, prepared, deli and charcuterie categories.
  • Manage, support and develop sales at specific existing retailers and retail distributors.
  • Generate expansion of new retail prospects and broker and distributor networks
  • Supervise Regional Sales Manager(s) and work with assigned sales support personnel (where applicable) to help grow business in appropriate territories
  • Work closely with Product Managers and Marketing to ensure proper pricing, sales & marketing support.
  • Assist with regional support of national accounts – both foodservice and retail – as needed.
  • Broker Management: Weekly communication; Monthly priorities.
 
  • Additional Responsibilities
  • Provide clear verbal and written communication to other departments.
  • Weekly forecasting and review of performance metrics.
  • Demonstrate sales leadership skills, ability to represent the brand’s attributes, as well as seek self-development through continuous learning.
  • Manage to weekly, monthly, yearly objectives, business plans, and budgets.
  • Represent Niman Ranch at trade shows, seminars, training seminars and product/client presentations.
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Mentor staff/teammates
  • Travel necessary – both within and outside of the territory

 

  • Qualifications:
  • 5+ year’s sales experience with a meat company required. Prefer beef, pork or lamb experience vs other proteins.
  • Resides in the territory, near a major airport.
  • B.S. College degree – minimum.
  • May reside on the East Coast or in the Mid Atlantic area.but must have access to a major metropolitan airport.
