The purpose of a Maintenance Mechanic B is to maintain, diagnose, repair, rebuild, adjust, perform preventative maintenance and install equipment within and around the facilities so as to keep the production operational
This position is for 3rd shift.
Responsible to move throughout the facility, reach vertical heights up to 150’ to perform repairs, PM’s, and monitor equipment in both Open and confined spaces.
Use of vehicle to transfer selves, tools and equipment to perform and met the mechanical knowledge, skills and abilities of a “B” Mechanic.
Performs preventive maintenance as assigned which includes but is not limited to fabrication, rebuilding of machinery, gearboxes, pumps, etc.
Respond to emergency breakdowns during both on and off duty hours to ensure operations continue on a 24 hours a day basis.
Generates and submits paperwork relative to work locations such a work orders, time cards, job cards, and any related to meetings, safety, etc.
Perform all equipment repairs and daily work within OSHA regulations, lockout/tag-out, and Perdue safety book guidelines.
Ensure shop and surrounding areas are kept clean by the removal of all debris in work areas, workbenches, break rooms, all floors and the same are free of liquids, oils and dirt
Ensure a safe working environment by elimination of unsafe act/s or condition/s.
Strong reading, math writing and comprehensive skills are required.
Must possess knowledge of hydraulic systems, conveyor systems and an aptitude for industrial machinery.
Must have a valid Drivers License and a clean Motor Vehicle Record
2 years of relevent work experience or vocational training completed
High School Diploma or GED equivalent and two years of technical college preferred.
Maintenance experience in a Poultry Facility
