Description/Job Summary

The Complex Maintenance Manager will manage the maintenance activities for the Lewiston, NC Facility to provide leadership, consultation, and guidance regarding maintenance expenditure projects, cost efficiencies, process development, modification, and facility maintenance.  Candidate responsibilities include: developing and deploying maintenance and store improvement programs and projects that improve the plant and equipment performance; promoting safety and demanding it from the maintenance organization; managing the maintenance staff to include hiring, training, and developing the staff to meet the needs of the department; ensuring maintenance projects comply with all local, state, and federal safety and environmental requirements and regulations; developing long-range strategic plans to ensure maintenance requirements are accomplished; managing the maintenance management system and performing other tasks as assigned; enhancing existing maintenance programs/systems for all manufacturing equipment to further reduce plant equipment down time and to ensure maximum plant efficiency; and ensuring preventative and predictive maintenance is completed and records are maintained on all assets. 

Required Skills

  • Candidate must have an understanding of: maintenance management systems and processes; preventative and predictive maintenance; manufacturing technologies; and standard software applications. 
  • Candidate must have strong communication, math, organizational, and analytical skills.

Required Experience

  • BS/BA degree in a related field with a minimum of 10 years of multi-skill industrial maintenance management experience (electric, mechanical, electronic). 
  • Experience in poultry/meat processing. 
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement world class predictive/preventative maintenance programs (asset maintenance, ammonia refrigeration systems, facilities and grounds), effectively manage an operating budget exceeding $15 million, develop operating strategy and set measurable goals, build teams and develop/coach/mentor associates, act as the technical resource for plant departments and manage site contractors (sourcing, project bids and schedules). 
  • Required skills include organization, prioritization of work, drive for results, attention to detail, leadership and development of staff, integrity and objectivity, change management and working in teams. 
  • Experience with Maximo and Microsoft. 
  • The candidate will develop and implement maintenance strategies and processes in support of operating goals in a 500,000 square foot poultry processing plant.
