Maintenance Mechanic B

The Georgetown Complex is looking for a Maintenance Mechanic B to join our Night Shift Maintenance team.

Responsibilities/Duties

#1  Responsible to move throughout the facility, reach vertical heights up to 150’ to perform repairs, PM’s, and monitor equipment in both open and confined spaces. 
#2  Use of vehicle to transfer items, tools and equipment to perform and meet the mechanical knowledge, skills and abilities of a “B” Mechanic per attached sheet.
#3  Performs preventive maintenance as assigned which includes but is not limited to fabrication, rebuilding of machinery, gearboxes, pumps, etc.
#4  Respond to emergency breakdowns during both on and off duty hours to ensure operations continue on a 24 hours a day basis.
#5  Generates and submits paperwork relative to work locations such a work orders, time cards, job cards, and any related to meetings, safety, etc.
#6  Perform all equipment repairs and daily work within OSHA regulations, lockout/tag-out, and Perdue safety book guidelines.

Required Experience

This position require a minimum of 2 years of prior experience in a similar role.

Required Education

Reading, writing, math and analytical skills required with a high school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Education

A minimum Formal Education is preferred to be considered for this position such as a certification or degree in a course of relevance.

ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The environmental factors and/or physical requirements of this position include the following:

#1 Exposed to plant and seasonal weather temperatures from 0 to 115 degrees Fahrenheit.
#2 Exposed to noise levels up to 115 DBS, Hearing protection is required per Perdue policy.
#3 Personal Protective Equipment ( PPE ) as required per Perdue policy.
#4 Chemical exposure which is covered under Perdue policy by PPE requirements.
#5 Bending , lifting and climbing is required.
